Set in a quiet area in the charming village of Abbotskerswell, this detached, Mediterranean-style villa was built by the owner, who has created an interesting holiday home in an attractive, landscaped, sloping garden. The property is spacious and has been decorated and furnished to a good standard. There is a balcony just off the living room with far-reaching views over the countryside. Abbotskerswell is a small hamlet situated midway between the Torbay Coast and Dartmoor National Park; local attractions include a cider press centre in Dartington. The historic towns of Dartmouth and Brixham are only 10 miles away and Torquay, with its award-winning beaches, theatre, Kents Caverns, Living Coast and model village is just a 10-minute drive.
Manor Gate is an ideal location for family get togethers, friends to meet and celebrations. There are many walks to be enjoyed from the door and plenty of birds can be seen from the garden. Many activities are available locally including golf, wind surfing, tennis, letter boxing on Dartmoor and horse riding, with point-to-point races held locally. Numerous NT properties are in the area including Greenway, the home of Agatha Christie. Visitors can also experience a trip on the steam train to Dartmouth or see Dartmoor with its ponies, heather-clad tors and tearooms serving cream teas. For walks further afield, Becky Falls, Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Poundsgate and Holne are all recommended.
Manor Gate is central for most activities and has a lovely garden in which to enjoy a barbecue on a pleasant summer's evening. Shops and two pubs in the village, 500 yards.
